| Murcia is at the southern part of Alicante, Spain. A historical place and buildings around the city are the proof of being a distinctive city. This has also been a colony of Rome; Carthagena was once the settlement of the Carthaginians and the Moors took over. There have been a Roman and Moorish influence to the city. The city is like of San Sebastian, this is also divided by a river, the Segura River. Murcia is just a small city; all the attractions are just in the proximity and just minutes away.
You will see some of the city’s attractions. You can see its Baroque style church, the Almudi Palace and the eleventh century fortress which is the Castle of Monteagudo. You will also find the Casino Traperia, it has a Moorish designed patio. There are also museums around the city, there is the Museo dela Bellas Artes which showcases the works of Gaya and Ballester or try the the Salzillo Museum. The Cathedral de Santa Maria is the main tourist attraction, this is a fifteenth century cathedral. There are also the other attractions such as the Market de Veronicas, the University of Murcia, Romea Theater and many more.
If you plan to stay longer in Murcia, it would be nice if you can visit the capitals of the region which are the Carthagena and the Caravaca dela Cruz. Both of these places have a majestic history and architecture. In Caravaca de la Cruz, you will find the museum of the Municipal Archaeological Museum. There are varieties of hotels which you can find in Murcia; there are hotels near its beaches, hotels near the medieval towns or simply hotels at the city. Whether you are staying in the centre or not, surely staying at one of the hotels will likely be memorable.
