Boat Trips
If you have extra bucks to spare, if you love the sea, and traveling for about an hour from San Javier is not an issue, there is an activity in Torrevieja town that will let you get more intimate with the Mediterranean Sea. In fact, more than a few boat trips are obtainable from the Torrevieja Fishing Port.
Take the all day trip to the beautiful and undamaged Isla Tabarca. Tabarca Island is a protected Nature and Marine Reserve since the 1980s. The boat ride is enjoyable because the sea in this part of the Costa Blanca is almost always calm. Indulging on a glass-bottom boat ride even just for 30 minutes will already enchant you of the unique and colorful world under the sea. Seeing the unfathomable depths of the sea, as well as its nurtured vibrant creatures will truly justify your travel time and money.
The half day sea excursion departs at 11:00 am and returns 6:00 pm every day except Friday. It departs from the Torrevieja Marina, in the center of town, opposite the fountain.
Coastline boat trips are also available, lasting only for 30 minutes. This trip will give you a splendid sight of Torrevieja from the sea. The boats depart daily from the Torrevieja fishing port at 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 1:30 pm.
