Traveling to La Union by Air

The closest airport to La Union is to be found at San Javier (MJV), Murcia. Travel time from the San Javier Airport to La Union should take no longer than 20 minutes. Daily flights to Murcia's San Javier Airport are scheduled regularly. Routing your travel through the Alicante International airport (ALC) is also an alternative but it is already very distant.

Car Hire

If you are opting to have a private means of transportation when traveling in Murcia, the Car Hire Service is best recommended. If you are traveling with your family, this might just be the most inexpensive means to travel around at your own convenience. Car Hire Companies may be booked in advance on the internet and some companies even give discounts for booking done online. Murcia Car Hire Companies usually prefer that the designated driver for their cars be age 25 and up.

Bus

The bus station is to be found on the western region of Murcia, near Museo Salzillo. Local bus services include Cartagena, Alicante, Orihuela, and Lorca. There are also bus routes that include trips to San Javier and Benidorm.

Train

From Murcia, up to five trains travel daily to Madrid (4.5-hour travel). Five trains journey daily towards Madrid via Albacete. Trains also operate hourly to Lorca and Alicante (1.5-hour travel). The train station is situated south of the Río Segura. La Union has several stations on the low-priced and fascinating FEVE narrow gauge railway that runs between Cartagena and Los Nietos on the shore of the Mar Menor.

Taxi

There is a taxi rank outside the San Javier Airport or Alicante Airport. Taxis are on a queue scheme therefore the taxi on the front travels first. Taxis are colored white and are of a very high standard. There are companies that arrange or book taxi transfers, and these agencies may be reached through the internet.
