Holy Week Celebrations
The Holy Week, which usually falls on the month of March, is celebrated by having a procession of consecrated images from the Cathedrals. The Holy Week celebrations in Murcia have been declared of National Tourist Interest since the last decade, although it has been well commemorated since the 18th century.

Fiestas De Primavera
The Feria de Primavera (or Fiestas De Primavera) launches on Easter Sunday with the proclamation of the "Bando de la Huerta." On the first Tuesday after the Holy Week is when colorful Murcia costumes are worn by people parading and dancing on the streets. Subsequently, on the first Saturday after the Holy Week, Burial of the Sardira takes place (Sardine’s Funeral Parade), whereby it is obligatory to only eat fish and vegetables. Other activities during this week long feast are the Battle of Flowers and Dance, bullfights, and folkloric events.

Battle Of The Flowers
In Murcia, Battle Of The Flowers is commemorated on the last Friday of August every year to hail the Feria de Septiembre. Throughout this occasion, numerous floats that are beautifully ornamented with flowers are on parade.

Carthagineses Y Romanos
Carthagineses y Romanos is an animated event in the nearby town Cartagena. Not to be missed during this event are the full-sized camps and the realistic portrayal of the battles during the 2nd Punic War in Cartagena which happened several centuries ago. Cante de la Minas Flamenco Festival
Famous Flamenco dancers and enthusiasts from all over the world congregate on the Old Market Building in La Union to commemorate this well-loved event. This is a week-long celebration (or sometimes longer) and it starts on the first week of August. This is a perfect way to actually witness impeccable and exquisite Flamenco dancing, and also a great time to get acquainted with the related history of Flamenco and the town of La Union.
