Town Beaches

The Murcian coastline showcases a variety of attributes that allow tourists and locals to engage in different sea activities. There are unguarded shores, untamed marine areas for the adventure seekers. On the other hand, there are small coves that have calm and tranquil waters. Truly Murcia can satisfy nature lovers when it comes to aquatic sights. Murcia has a wide array of salt-water lagoons and beaches with golden sand dunes. It is simply expected that these areas have been proclaimed ‘Protected Natural Areas' by the local government. In fact, these are marine spots where rare species of flora and fauna can still be found. There are also mud-flats that claim to have therapeutic benefits for the body.

The province of Murcia has a wealth of landscapes and environments protected through its regional parks. Beaches of golden sand ridges and untouched inlets alongside the coast are the sceneries you will come across, in Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar , Calblanque , Monte de las Cenizas , Peña del Águila , Cabo Cope and Puntas de Calnegre .

In the beach of El Mojon in San Pedro del Pinatar , we can experience the magnificent white sands and the sea shore that has kept the sailors, fishermen, divers, and sun bathers in high spirits throughout the centuries.

La Azohia is a fine-looking scenic fishing village where you can just allow yourself to lose track of time and enjoy nature's glory for a few days.

Puerto de Mazarrón is a seaside resort town with brilliant hotel amenities. You can expect an energetic nightlife as well as a superb cuisine which is a must for the taste buds. This area also has a fishing port whose fish auction is slowly becoming a tourist lure. The rest of the coastline also has marvelous beaches perfect for strolling, such as the beaches of Calblanque and Calnegre .

Mar Menor is the 'world's largest pool,' situated in the southeast of Murcia . It is an artificial, 170-square kilometer pond of temperate waters and tender breeze. It is renowned to be one of the most excellent places in Europe to be trained with various water sports (sailing, canoeing, swimming, water-skiing, jet-skiing, fly surfing, windsurfing, catamaranning, etc). The Mar Menor is at odds from the Mediterranean by a slender strip of land (only 22 kilometers wide), called La Manga del Mar Menor . It's sandy coastline and crystalline waters have made it one of the primarily looked upon resorts on the Mediterranean . The beaches go in synergy with the wide series of hotels, casinos, golf courses and everything a holiday-maker could leisurely wish for. A few minutes away is Cabo de Palos , a charming seafront village with a unique 19 th century lighthouse and two wonderful beaches.
