La Manga

La Manga , which literally means the sleeve, is a lovely tranquil refuge situated in the autonomous community of Murcia . It showcases approximately 40 kilometers of crystal clear waters, and thus is a very popular tourist magnet, be it for holiday escape or even for permanent residence.

La Manga is one of the places in Murcia, Spain, where there is a fantastic view. This is one of the places in Murcia that it is serene and still has unspoiled beaches and so on. There are many hotels in this coastal part of Murcia and as well as other coastal areas such as hoteles Costa de la Luz in Cadiz.

An aerial view of the La Manga vicinity surely is an attention-grabbing sight. Its geographical layout is so unique no wonder it has become one of the most inviting tourist emblems of Murcia.

Originally, what is now known as La Manga del Mar Menor was a typical bay open to the Mediterranean. The volcanic movements that occurred over the years have been so instrumental to the present-day physical lay-out of La Manga . Now, the La Manga is a natural border for the Mar Menor ( which means little sea ), the largest saltwater lake of Europe. At the same time, another part of the outer La Manga land mass strip faces the Mediterranean. For this reason, La Manga is famously dubbed with the slogan, A Paradise Between Two Seas. It is sliced off by natural waterways (called golas ) that enable the two seas to still get in touch with each other. This way, the Mediterranean waters can still get through the Mar Menor.
For a very long time, this part of Murcia remained to be untouched. It was only during the 1960 s that La Manga was discerned to be a lucrative tourist spot. At present, the whole La Manga has been constantly built with commercial infrastructures to be able to respond to the rising tourism industry. First rate hotels, bars, discos, restaurants, championship-sized golf courses, top-class spa resorts, recreational hubs, you name it, La Manga will not come short. In fact, even the real estate business is growing rapidly in this side of the earth. Just like the other tropical resorts, the summer months are also the busiest for this town. The winter season however, will provide a calm and soothing ambience ideal for hectic people searching for a cool escape.

The tasty food of La Manga is another one of its magnetic factors. Since this town is a coastal vicinity, expect a lot of seafood specialties, although there is a wide variety of international cuisine in the many restaurants that line the beaches.

A great sunny weather, delectable cuisine, contemporary structures, fine sand, crystal clear waters - its an ultimate paradise on earth and there is nothing more to ask for when you are in La Manga.
